  NX Series   dubasDC

Dubas offers SMPS based modular DC systems for industrial applications. These are high frequency switching DC systems using IGBT devices. These industrial DC system are most convenient and reliable DC power systems for power systems for process industrial, oil and gas installations, telecom, PLCC applications etc.,

The systems are generally built with several modules with common control block and display block. The system can have configurations of float cum boost chargers or independent float and boost chargers. These modular systems provide paralleling of several modules to reach customer’s load requirements and redundancy factors. With different power ratings of modules built into same panels, customization can be provided easily. The type of display requisite, DCDB, mimic panel, remote monitoring options, RS 232 / RS 485 ports for computer interface etc can all be configured to suit customer specifications.

The system can be configured for supporting long battery backup systems. All type of stationary batteries can be used like Tubular Lead Acid, VRLA, Ni Cad or Plante.

  Advantages
1 PWM technology
The MX-Series employs most advanced PWM rectifier technology using IGBTs as switching devices.
2 Digital control
MX-Series employs fully digital control with DSP controller which provides predictive control of rectification and monitoring capability.
3 Input Power Factor Controller
MX-Series offers a builtin input power factor controller (PFC) which improves the input PF to near unity (> 0.99). Conventional thyristor based DC systems provide input PF as low as 0.6. The PFC of NX offers several adventages to the user, these are listed after the following paragraph.
4 Input Current Harmonics
MX-Series DC systems / Battery Chargers inject very low harmonic currents back in to the source. This input current harmonics is limited to less than 5% and can even be brought down to < 3% if desired in NX –Series. Conventional thyristor based chargers pump as high as 50% harmonics current to the source. This harmonic Pollution causes various problems to the customers. NX-Series with input PFC and Harmonic limiting technology has following specific advantages.

Reduces the current consumption and saves energy. This is an important factor in a plant’s energy management. Tariff and maximum demand charges also comes down.
Reduces standby generator capacity requirement : Conventional thyristor based DC systems / Battery Chargers demand standby generators of nearly 200% plus capacity (two times the DC system rating)  to compensate for low input PF and high input harmonics. NX-Series require just 120% of the DC systems capacity (20% more than DC system rating).
Avoiding over heating of all upstream and down stream current carrying cables and components in the distribution systems.
Reduces the wear and tear of all components / equipments connected in the same power source and hence avoids pre-matured ageing of such components / equipments. Ex. a motor connected with the same source with thyristor based charger will have high wear and tear on the motor winding through a period of time and can cause premature ageing of the motor and sudden failure.
Avoids stray tripping of breakers and protection relays.
Ensures optimum utilization of power source, as reactive power is brought down to very low values by improving PF and by reducing harmonics.
Avoids flickers, sags and surges in the distribution network.
5 Excellent Battery Management
MX systems with high frequency PWM switching and digital control offers very low ripple into the batteries and specified voltage and current to the battery depending on the battery demands to charge the battery optimally. This enhances the battery life considerably.
6 Flexible Configurations
MX-Series can be configured in various configurations to suit applications like Float Chargers, Float Cum Boost Chargers, Redundancy Options or simple DC systems etc., NX can be built to support all kinds of batteries like Tubular Lead Acid, VRLA, Nickle Cadmium, Plante etc.,
7 Modularites
The System has high flexibility with absolute modular capabilities
8 Diagnostics & Monitoring
MX Series has a processor based diagnostics with touchpad facility for human machine interface. All specified parameters can be monitored and even can be programmed into the systems,on the field. RS232 / RS485 ports are available for computer interface. Voltage free contacts can be provided for user purposes. Customer specific front display can be incorporated suit applications.
